Have you been watching LCS this year? Super tanks are the meta! Huge purple corporate executives, dragons, crocodiles, trolls... you name it. Do you remember what is one of the most common weaknesses called out by the casters? I don't, but i can say - lack of hard initiation rings pretty darn often. While the professional players can work around that, the tone they set for the game does not translate well into lower levels of play. And truth be told, many times not even pro's can handle what they cooked in the champion select. What you can see mostly are basically a dice-roll picks. They hope they do well in the laning phase. And when they don't build significant advantage, they get crushed.
And same story goes for the soloQ. However, from experience, at least one of your lanes is going to lose and other one will be doing well. Just remember the "elo hell" guyz crying "I was 20/1 but we lost because top fed!". One big way to build a bridge around your weak lane is crowd control. It doesn't matter how fat the enemy Gragas is if you can lock him down and burn him before he can slide away. Enemy Yasuo or Trundle can't split-push if moment they show in the lane you engage and crush their team. Sejuani is the tank powerhouse of CC. She has everything right now:
Percentual dmg? Check.
Scales with hp? Check.
Built-in tenacity? Check.
Continual CC? Check.
Hard Initiation? Hell yes.
Disengage? You bet.
It doesn't matter if you put her in the top or in the jungle, she is going to make a serious impact. If you can land that ultimate that is. But that is not exactly hard. If you do land your skills and catch them off-guard you control the flow of the fight. And that, is what wins games. Oh and did I mentioned, seeing her in game is so rare that hardly anyone knows how to handle her?
